Goodwill Hunting
After a long, hard day of doing absolutely nothing, I decided to pack the kids up to visit our local Goodwill (or as my son says, "the happy WalMart". Don't ask) My intention was to look for china and pretty teacups...none of which I bought, of course!
When I arrived, I noticed they had completely rearranged the store, which in my opinion, was desperately needed. The store was brighter and looked larger since the last time I visited.
Some people are too bourgeois for Goodwill, but not me. Goodwill and thrift stores provide an adrenaline rush for me. I can spend hours in there going through racks; also it is one of the few stores where my son can ask, "Can I have...?" and I usually say yes!
Back to the thrill of shopping at Goodwill.
There is nothing like going on a hunt and finding exquisite pieces (for 70% less than retail). Furthermore, when I shop at Good Will, I feel better about myself. Really I do! My purchases help people find employment through the many services offered at Goodwill and I have reduced our collective imprint on the environment by recycling. It's a win-win situation. I get to indulge myself in a little retail therapy while helping the environment and people in my community. It is really a no brainer!
On this shopping trip, I was able to find a few things that I absolutely love!
I picked up this adorable Wearable Art shirt by Bob Mackie. Yes, it's the QVC Bob Mackie, but I am still a huge fan of his from when he dressed Cher..
My Bob Mackie shirt was only 2.98! (and I will make it fly, because I'm clever!) My next purchase was this adorable 2 finger Love ring (and I do love it)! $4.98!
Lastly, a vintage Oleg Cassini Crystal (real crystal, mind you) perfume bottle...in the box!
Just looking at the bottle makes me feel glamorous! All I need is a vanity table, a bullet shaped bra and pin curls to feel like an golden era Hollywood starlet. The icing on the cake is, it was only $2.98! All in all, I had a pretty good trip!
So what did you do with your Sunday?
