I apparently forgotten what it was like to have babies and toddlers.  There is such a huge age difference between my seven year old son and 11 month old daughter, I totally forgot what life is really like when you a baby in the house.  The constant diaper changing, bottle cleanings, packing a diaper bag that would help anyone survive the apocalypse, and ofcourse the constant outfit changes.  My dear sweet baby girl goes through more outfits on a daily basis than Katie Perry during her concerts.  My baby girl is a diva!  On top of the many wardrobe changes, she seemingly outgrows new clothes in a matter of weeks.  Having babies is expensive!

I've always wanted to write a book; fiction, non fiction, childrens books, self help, and something "For Dummies".  Unfortunately, I have no idea what to write and getting published seems like a daunting task.  Fortunately, with the wonders of the world wide web and forward thinking entrepreneurs, self publishing is now a viable way to share your works with the world!

While there are quite a few companies out there you can self publish with, there are quite a few conditions in the fine print that aren't beneficial for the author...especially if your book sells well.  Some self publishing companies will get you started cheaply however, they will own 50% of the rights to your book.  For instance, say you have finished your wonderfully, magnificent book and it starts flying off the shelf; then you decide to take your book to a large traditional publisher...while you can do that, you will owe the initial self publisher 50% of all you make off that book. (Not counting what your agent and whomever else will be getting paid off your book)  Be warned when self publishing, read the fine print to make sure you are getting the best deal and hopefully 100% ownership of your intellectual property.

Out of all the sites I researched, Blurb is, hands down, the best.  From the website (www.blurb.com)
