Belly Armor For All My Beautiful Mommies to Be!

Hello loves and mommies to be!

I am not pregnant.  I repeat, I am not pregnant.  However, it was not too long ago that I was.  As I watch my beautiful daughter round that corner to one year old, I still remember the joys and pains of carrying her.  I remember the luxurious hair, the back pains, the glowing skin, the heartburn, all the attention and passes from loved ones if I kirked out (DC/DMV slang for flip out or behaving badly, or going ham).

I also remember the deluge of information on what I could and could not eat, what was safe, what was dangerous, and a slew of other concerns I probably could have avoided worrying about in abundance.  Unfortunately with your growing baby and growing bump there are things you have to consider for your own health and the health of your baby.

Belly Armor offers products to help protect baby from harmful radiation we encounter on a daily basis.  From the Belly Armor website:  "Radiation has long been cited as a health risk to young children and developing fetuses, but scientific experts still debate the nature and extent of that risk. Because the dangers caused by radiation can take years to show their effects in young children, the risks during pregnancy from radiation are difficult to pinpoint and represent increased probabilities of health impacts developing over time."
Being a trusted partner of Healthy Child Healthy World, Belly Armor offers several products to help shield baby from harm.  Belly Armor offers the Belly Blanket, the Belly Band, the Belly Tee and Nursing Covers all made with RadiaShield® Technology.  From Belly Armor:

RadiaShield® Fabric shields everyday radiation by neutralizing (through reflection and absorption) incoming electromagnetic waves, canceling out the ambient radiation and reducing your exposure.
Utilizing the same shielding approach that is used in industrial and military applications, RadiaShield® Fabric is designed to be safe and comfortable for pregnant women.
  • Machine washable, RadiaShield® Fabric will not deteriorate in effectiveness over time or through machine washings
  • Breathable and soft to the touch
  • Free of toxins and allergens, Free of heavy-metals and toxic dyes, RadiaShield® Fabric goes through rigorous independent product safety testing
  • Highly effective, In addition to rigorous internal testing, RadiaShield® Fabric has been independently tested in FCC-certified and NVLAP-accredited labs to have shielding effectiveness of 99.9% for the range of everyday radiation (<10mhz 8="" font="" z="">
With all the other things you have to worry about from baby showers, to can you eat fish, to doctors appointments, baby names and pickles and ice cream, it's good you have one less thing to worry about.  Furthermore, Belly Armor has many celebs singing their praises!  Everyone from Jessica Capshaw, to Tiffani Thiessen, to Sarah Michelle Gellar all swear by Belly Armor.

Go to www.bellyarmor.com and pick one out today! Congrats on your bundles of joy and as always,

Happy Shopping!

All About Baby

Babies are awesome.  They smell good, they're freaking adorable and they bring so much joy in your life (and sleepless nights).  Now that I am in full blown mommy mode, I rediscovered another little pleasure about having a new baby.  Shopping for baby!  I almost like shopping for baby as much as I like shopping for myself!  Clothes, toys, monitors, bedding, cribs, bouncers, lotions, baby wash, booties, layettes, bottles, teething rings, portrait packages, strollers, bibs and more clothes; with a baby you never run out of things to purchase.

I've compiled a list of some of Miss Chloe and I's favorite things.  From day care to organic diapers, we've got most of the basics covered.  Of course, because there are so many great sites and stores, this will be a reoccurring post.

Baby Supplies

The Honest Company:

The Honest Company is a cool membership site where they ship you stylish environmentally friendly baby products every month.  The company was founded by, no other than your girl, Jessica Alba.  From the web site: "Being a mom is the most profound experience I've ever had," she says. As a mother of young daughters (4-year-old Honor and newborn Haven), Jessica admits she feels an intense responsibility to give her children the best possible start. When I became a mom, I finally became the person I am, that I always should have been," she says. "It's the most satisfying job in the world. But, it can also be overwhelming and confusing. I created The Honest Company to help moms and to give all children a better, safer start"

So every month they ship you you a bundle of goodies to your doorstep. You have a choice of three bundles:

The Diapers & Wipes Bundle:

"The Diapers & Wipes Bundle is a monthly supply* of super-absorbent, eco-friendly and stylish baby diapers. Save 30% when purchasing our Diapers & Wipes Bundle versus purchasing Diapers and Wipes separately."

The Essentials Bundle:

"This bundle is composed of the most useful baby care & home cleaning products – all derived from natural and organic ingredients.

You can bundle any of these vitamin products; Pre Natal, DHA-Omega 3, and Baby & Toddler Multi.  This is the Honest Company's commitment to you "An all natural line of Health &Wellness Essentials for your entire family made with certified organic, whole foods - REAL foods - veggies, fruits, herbs, probiotics & superfoods (the way nature intended). Diaper Dude:

DiaperDude.comDiaper Dude is a brand dedicated to fathers (don't worry, they have bags for mommies too!).  As we all know the standard diaper bag, no matter if for a boy or girl, is...well...feminine.  The founder of Diaper Dude, Chris Pegula, found that out the hard way after the birth of his 3 children.  He decided it was time for fathers to have stylish and most importantly masculine diaper bags; so he founded Diaper Dude.

Diaper Dude's bags are so adorable.  Oops, sorry fellas; I mean they are handsome, rugged and stylish. (Is that better?) With the new MLB Collection you can even show off your team pride while carrying your little ones diapers (you got from the Honest Company-wink wink), wipes, and bottles.  Diaper Dude also offers stylish bags for moms, as well as laptop bags and messenger bags.  Below are bags from the MLB Collection.

Aren't they awesome? The bags are well made, durable, easy to clean (!) and affordable.  The icing on the cake?  Daddy won't be embarrassed to be seen carrying the diaper bag! Order a bag here for the Diaper Dude in your life!

Child Care

Care.com:

As any mother (or father knows), finding quality day care or baby sitters is a challenge.  However, the founder/CEO of Care.com,  Sheila Marcelo, created CARE to fulfill peoples personal care needs.  From child care to senior care to pet care, Care.com is in 16 countries, 8 million people use the service, and a new job is posted every second.  Pretty impressive, huh?

The site makes finding quality care easy.  You can view profiles, check their references and background check (yes, their background checks are available!)  I haven't used a sitter yet (I am searching for a babysitter who will watch the kids every once in a while when the hubby and I want to shake a tail feather or me and the girls want to party) but I have interviewed several promising candidates.  So, if you are in the market for an au pair, sitter, dog sitter or a care provider for an elderly relative, Care.com is there for you.  Click here to begin the process!

These are some of my favorite things (for baby that is)!  Leave a comment and let me know you shop for all of your baby needs!

Blow The Dust Off This Blog!

BY Unknown IN , , , , , , , , , 4 comments

Blow The Dust Off This Blog!

It's been a long time!  I have to blow the dust off and clear up some cobwebs!  I apologize for the long absence, however, I have a good excuse....

I had a baby!  Yes, this is the newest addition to my family; Chloe.  She was born on May 4th, and darlings, she is a diva!  My son was such an easy baby, as long as he was fed and dry, he was happy...Miss Thing (smile) however, is nothing like that and she will let you know!

But yes, THIS is what I have been up to during my absence.  During my pregnancy I was planning on showing photos of myself cute and pregnant...yet, that didn't happen.  I would like to say I was super stylish during my whole pregnancy...but if I did, that would be a bold faced lie!  I had my moments but for the most part I looked like a beached whale.  (Smile)

And for the most part, I still do!
I am humungous!  Yes, huge.  I had not actively tried to lose the weight (everyday I said I am going for a walk and well...it never happened) but today I started my Le-Vel 8 Week Experience.  (Sounds fancy right?)

Basically, it's 8 weeks on meal replacement shakes, making the proper nutritional choices, along with these vitamins and minerals you take. They have specialized programs for men and women, so this is not a one size fits all type of deal! I know three people, two women and one man who have had amazing results with this plan...so fingers crossed(!) hopefully this will help me get my sexy back!  If you would like more information about Le-Vel Thrive, click here.  My plan is, every two weeks I will do a post, chronicling my  weightloss journey, so check back for that and try to refrain from snickering at my rolls (smile)

In addition to adding a little girl to my family and trying to get my sexy back, I have also changed the name of this blog to I (heart) Retail Therapy.  This is the direction the blog will be headed because a) I love to shop b) I have dived head first into a retail therapy lifestyle (which I will explain later) and c) while I slacked off on my blogging duties somebody purchased my old domain name! (smh)  It's what I get.

Anywhoo, about my retail lifestyle:

Confession 1:  I have had a life long desire to get paid to shop.  I am, by and by, a true American consumer.  While my intellectual mind knows that is shallow; it's the problem with today's youth, I am contributing to corporate greed, etc....I still love to shop!  However, I do not like spending all of my money...which leads to me to:

Confession 2:  I have become a couponing junkie.  I haven't gotten to the point where I can go to the grocery store, pick up thousands of dollars worth of merchandise and leave only paying pennies...however, I am getting pretty darn close.  My coupon habit has gotten so out of control, I have the whole family involved.
He's only smiling because it's a coupon for candy
Confession 3: In my attempt to save money and shop 'til I drop, I have sought out other ways to make money from home, easily.  I have become a cash survey taking fool.  Everyday I am completing surveys!  I am not going to lie, some of the surveys are enjoyable (and even offer rewards besides cash.  I was recently invited to try a new skin care line)  and some just suck the life force out of you.  However, when that check gets mailed or funds are deposited it is all worth it.

SO going forward, with the name change, I will continue to keep an eye on fashion, and discuss certain social issues...but with a new baby and addiction to saving money, there will be quite a few posts on baby related things and ofcourse, couponing and shopping!  I have a ton of new product reviews, along with fabulous giveaways so check back for that!

Phew!  That was a lot to get out!  So what have you been up to?!
